I've known so many photographers who have challenged themselves to take photos every day for a year. So, I thought I'd give it a try. Not everything here will be exactly spectacular, but it is my goal to take at least some things that I can consider great shots. I am challenging my own creativity. Let us see what results.

laurajohnson > 9-25-08 Yep, still a few flowers holding on as long as they can. These kind of cheered me up a little bit, I've been a little depressed the past couple of days.
laurajohnson > 9-24-08 I just loved this little wrought-iron gate leading into this little garden. It was charming.
laurajohnson > 9-23-08 This is another church building in Salt Lake, almost right next door to the Cathedral of the Madeleine. I didn't get to go inside, unfortunately -- the doors were locked. I'd LOVE to get a shot of that stained glass window from INSIDE the building!
laurajohnson > 9-22-08 I was going to go to a canyon in the Salt Lake area today, but it was raining. :-( So instead, you get a detail shot of one of the many beautiful stained glass windows in the Cathedral of the Madeleine.
laurajohnson > 9-21-08 So fall is JUUUST starting to peek its little head out now. Alisha and I went to visit the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork this afternoon and I just liked how the colors looked together -- the gray-white of the building with the orange-ing leaves preparing for autumn. I might go back again soon when the colors are in fuller season. :-)
laurajohnson > 9-20-08 I spent the entirety today at a local ballroom competition, and while I did get a few shots while I was there, none of them were much good because I was a little busy this time concentrating on my own dances. So, I'm actually using a slightly older one. This is another shot of the inside of Utah's State Capitol in Salt Lake. I used a closeup of the stairs as a daily not too long ago. Sorry, I was just too tired after I got home to try and think of anything else to take. By the way, in case anyone was interested, we went home with two ribbons -- one for fifth place and one for sixth. Hey, it's been a while since we were in the final for an event in ballroom, it felt good to be back out there! Oh, and also...I now have my HDR gallery up! laurajohnson > 9-19-08 Okay, this is my first official HDR shot -- deliberately shot with the design to render it in HDR and everything! We had some crazy awesome clouds today, and I took several shots of their beauteousness. :-) This just happened to be a favorite cloud of mine and so I took the bracketed shots and used my new HDR program to assist in creating this image. I like how it turned out! Will soon be putting up a new gallery, entirely HDR shots! I've been having WAY too much fun today taking some older favorites and using this new program to do something new with them. Hopefully I'll get that up this weekend! I'll feature it, for those interested.
laurajohnson > 9-18-08 This is an interior shot of the Lion House in Salt Lake -- it's located right by the temple. They also have a MARVELOUS chandelier in this building, which of course I'm in love with. I'll try and get you a picture of that sometime for my dailies. :-)
